First off Justin and I thought it would be fun to take off and have a family vacation with just our little family some place the kids haven't been, but also some place that didn't require a lot of driving. So we packed up and headed to Brian Head, Utah. Oh my goodness if you guys haven't been there it is beautiful. It's about 20 mins east of Cedar City. This is what the drive was like up to our hotel and around our hotel. Trees everywhere. We stayed in a beautiful Ski Lodge for 3 nights and since it wasn't skiing season we got an amazing deal on the room. There was a pool of course and an outdoor playground, with a volleyball and basketball court and you could also borrow croquet sets to play. I loved it, what a good idea to have that for kids. I wish every hotel had that.
The first day with we went to see the Petroglyphs. Some of them were really hard to see but some were very well preserved. It's weird to think that these have been here since the Indians. But they were really neat to see.
Next we hopped back in to the car and headed to St. George to check out the Dinosaur Museum. Justin and I had been here 8 years ago and it was just a little tent over some footprints. Now they have built a building around everything they discovered. It was pretty cool and educational.
Then we went outside to dig in the sand and have a picnic. Although sand + lunch= sandy food, not a good idea.
Then we went to the Saint George Temple to take some pictures. The kids have really been in to temples lately so we have been trying to go to as many as we can and get their pictures in front.
This cracks me up. While Justin and I were enjoying the beauty of the temple, Joel took Bailee and the camera to take pictures. Which was fine, this is a good picture.
Then it slowly progressed into this......
Then this...
and finally this.......The whole time Joel was instructing Bailee to do different poses. I don't know where he got this from, but it's a little risk-ay.
We had to take advantage of the pool and spent at least 2-3 hours there every night.
The Second day we headed to Bryce National Park. What can I say beautiful, beautiful beautiful!!!!!!!
We took the bus into the park and let it drive us around to the different hiking spots to look over the rim. We were hoping to do some hiking down into the pillars, but they were all too hard for kids. Bummer but maybe next time.
Aubrey even made a friend while we were there. It was an amazing vacation and I want to go back so bad. I am thinking we could make it a yearly thing and we could explore something different each time, cause there is so much to see there. Maybe next time we will check out Zions.
This is Bailees Birthday cake. I normally buy their cakes but I decided to make them instead. This was a huge very rich cake, cause it had 3 layers in it vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. But it was fun to experiment and make.My Bailee-bug is 7!!!!! I can't believe it. She had a good day filled with family, presents and a lot of sugar!!!
Joel begged me for a suit jacket so I found this at D.I for $5. I think it was worth it cause he is pretty handsome in it.
The last fun thing we did before school started was go to a Lake with Justins family and had a picnic and fun in the water. This is what Aubrey did the entire time, ah a girl after my own heart.
I love Jake it the background he can pull some of the funniest faces.
This would have been perfect if someone was smiling.
This was Joel after he got thrown in the water then rolled around in dirt. He didn't think his Mom would do it but with some help from Uncle Jake we got him in the water. It was great. But I don't know what was more funny Joel getting thrown in the water or Grandma falling out of her chair trying to get a picture of it.
So Aubrey what do you think about the world today and politics????????
My thoughts exactly:)
Oopps sorry. This if you tilt your head it the kids first day of school. Hurray!!!! Free free free at last:)
Then we celebrated Aubreys B-day. My baby is 1 that is so weird. But we love her and she is so much fun and a lot of work. The only thing I would change about her is that bald head of hers, she needs hair cause now she refuses to keep any bows on her head to make her look like a little girl. Oh well what can you do but love her!!!
Our fam who came to celebrate with us!!!
I love this!!! I am done, I have had enough "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to."Took the kids to a Canyon to get some pictures of them while it was still warm enough and the colors were still pretty
Love this one:)
Ahh so Beautiful!!! I love fall
And that's all.
